The library will host a special story time this coming Sunday to celebrate Lunar New Year, or Chinese New Year, which started on February 10! Join Ms. Dianna and Ms. Karen for stories, songs, and a simple craft. There will also be a chance for participants to talk about how they celebrate this holiday at home, if they wish. The 2024 Polar Bear Run is on Saturday February 24! Join us for this grueling kickoff to our racing season and test your physical limitations against the elements in our annual Polar Bear 5k Run! The course is a scenic route from the Community Center, past Memorial Park, and towards Summer Bay and back with excellent views of the bay and perhaps some sea lion friends! Beware as the wind rarely favors the racer (or polar bears!) in both directions which tests the physical and mental abilities of racers... Limited sizes/quantities of hoodies are available to purchase for racers, REGISTER NOW AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER OR CALL PCR AT 907-581-1297 TO SIGN UP!

The Aquatic Center's Youth Swim League is now open for registration! Youth Swim League is a great way to introduce children to competitive swimming. Participating in YSL will encourage swimmers to build endurance, learn technical drills, and prepare them to be the best swimmers for Middle School and High School Swim Team. If you are interested in becoming a coach, sign-up sheets will also be available at the Aquatic Center/PCR front desk! Deadline to register: March 1st

Afterschool archery starts back up again this coming Monday (1/22) There is no fee to participate and those who registered in the fall do not need to register again. Any new Archers who would like to join us though may sign up for free by calling or stopping by the community center front desk!

DEADLINE EXTENSION!
The registration deadline for our recreational Unalaska City League Soccer has been extended to Thursday, January 11, 2024. This is your last chance to get your team organized and sign up for the league! Please note that 18-year-olds are eligible to participate as long as they turn 18 before the start of the season. The league is open to both women and men, and there are no minimum or maximum gender requirements for teams.
Rosters are available at the Community Center Front Desk for teams to fill out and submit!
